Course Description:

In this course, we will learn about what semiconductors are, how they work, and the science behind them. We will then dive into understanding semiconductors in detail. We will also look at what doping is and how doping results into N- and P-type semiconductors. This is a self-paced eLearning module and comprises of a mixture of written passages and interactive blocks. This course is comprised of interactive information blocks and knowledge checks. You are expected to complete each section to receive the completion credits.

Course Objectives:

  • Define conductor, insulator, and semiconductor.
  • Define Doping and list two types of semiconductor materials formed with doping.
  • Name the current carriers in N and P-type material.
  • Explain how current flows in semiconductor material.
