본 안전지침은 국제 Environmental Health & Safety Technical Committee에서 승인하였다. 현행 개정판은 2013년 6월 4일 국제 Audits and Reviews Subcommittee에 의해 간행 허가를 받았으며, 2013년 11월부터 www.semiviews.org와 www.semi.org에서 이용가능하다. 초판은 1991년에 출판되었으며 이전 판은 2012년 9월에 출판되었다.
