本スタンダードは，global Gases Committeeで技術的に承認されている。現版は2009年9月4日，global Audits and Reviews Subcommitteeにて発行が承認された。2009年10月にwww.semi.orgで，そして2009年11月にCD-ROMで入手可能となる。初版は1988年月発行，前版は2001年11月に発行された。

 

本スタンダードは，2010年5月，誤りを訂正するため編集上の修正が行われた。¶ 7.4.4.4に続く式3が追加された。

 

本文書の目的は，半導体産業で使用される塩化水素（HCl）の仕様を提供することである。
