本スタンダードは，global Gases Committeeで技術的に承認されている。現版は2010年4月30日，global Audits and Reviews Subcommitteeにて発行が承認された。2010年6月にwww.semi.orgで入手可能となる。初版は1992年発行。前版は2004年11月発行。

 

本ガイドラインの目的は，マスフローコントローラに関する作業を行う場合に必要な，圧力パラメータを記述するための統一のとれた，世界中に通用する方法を確立することである。それは製造者とユーザ間の混乱及び誤解を防止しようとするものである。
