本仕様は，Global Gases Committeeで技術的に承認されたもので，North American Gases Committeeが直接責任を負うものである。現版は2004年4月22日North American Regional Standards Committeeにて承認されている。2004年6月にまずwww.semi.orgで入手可能になり，2004年7月発行に至る。

本文書は，液体のケミカル原料，溶液，溶剤を保持する金属製（例えばステンレス鋼）キャニスターに使用される継手のタイプ，寸法，間隔を規定するものである。
本文書は，溶剤に原料を溶解した液を含む「液体原料」（定義を参照）を保持するために使用される，金属製（例えばステンレス鋼）キャニスターに適用される。また，供給システムのin-situクリーニングに使用される溶剤用の容器にも適用される。
液体の接続ポート（入口と出口）が含まれ，バルブに対する空圧部接続形状も含む。
キャニスターの全体寸法のようなパラメーターは，他のスタンダードにて規定されるものとする。
