Course Description

This course provides an overview of the environmental regulations and compliance obligations for construction in the United States. It is designed for environmental professionals in the semiconductor industry, but has wider applicability to wider electronics and similar manufacturing sectors. Participants will become familiar with many of the codes for governing construction and site management, saving hundreds of hours in research and build a vocabulary and knowledge of important principles to stay on the right side of regulations, and speed their time to first product.

Instructors

Taimur Burki spent 20+ years as a senior environmental engineer and LEED program manager for a leading semiconductor manufacturing company. While there, he developed his skills in managing environmental programs, understanding trade-offs, working with external departments on minimizing and profiting from wastes, and working with vendors in developing novel methods to reduce and upcycle waste. Taimur holds an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, and a BSc from Purdue University in Biology. He leverages his exceptional knowledge and expertise to drive change across the broader technology industry and beyond.

Sean Aldrich previously worked at a large semiconductor manufacturer as an Environmental Engineer. He is the current owner and principal consultant at Eagle EHS, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California at Davis.
