SEMI T26 - Specification for Electronic Supply Chain Traceability Using Distributed Ledger Technology -
Abstract
1 Purpose
1.1 The purpose of this Specification is to define a secure, decentralized, traceability system based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) that can be shared by all members of the electronics supply chain.
1.2 The traceability system can be used as the framework that enables use cases such as improving reliability as the industry strives for zero defects, providing fast and precise responses to failures in the field, detecting and tracking down counterfeits, gray market parts, malware, etc., and compliance with export administration and other regulations.
2 Scope
2.1 This Specification defines the immutable transactions and associated data to be recorded as assets flow between members of an electronics manufacturing supply chain.
2.2 This Specification is applicable to all supply chain members, including but not limited to, wafer supply, wafer fab, wafer test, package assembly, final test, final system assembly and distribution.
